Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine which prioritises the structural integrity of the musculoskeletal system of the body (muscles, ligaments and joints). This is a focused, gentle approach to restore the body’s full range of movement and balance whilst eliminating sources of pain or discomfort.

Ear Wax Removal

Shotts Ear Wax Removal for anyone having problems with ear wax. A build up of ear wax can cause problems including hearing loss, discomfort, pain and irritation.
I am a Registered Nurse and I am trained to use microsuction and ear irrigation to remove problematic ear wax, and I provide after care advice and follow up appointments.
Ear microsuction uses the power of suction to carefully remove wax from the ear canal. Ear irrigation uses warm water to gently wash out the ear canal and wash away any wax. Your medical history will determine which method is appropriate for your ear wax.
£60 for one or both ears.

K-Laser

The K-Laser dynamic therapy protocols enhance tissue bio-stimulation, analgesia, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects. It penetrates laser energy deep into musculoskeletal tissues and accelerates cell metabolism by increasing blood flow, nutrients, cell division and excretion of waste products. As a result: skin, tendons, ligaments and muscles are repaired faster with less inflammation, scarring and pain.

Some of the conditions that can be treated with K-Laser therapy include:

  • Repetitive Strain Injuries
  • Chronic Back Pain
  • Sport injuries
  • Musculoskeletal conditions in pregnancy
  • Post Surgical Rehabilitation
  • Chronic Neck Pain
  • Chronic wrist pain
  • Scar Hypersensitivity
  • Analgesic Effect for People Allergic to Drugs
  • Sport Injuries
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Diabetic Wounds
  • Chronic Non-Healing Wounds
  • Post Surgical Wound Healing
  • Burns

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (Focused & Radial)

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive modality that uses high-intensity acoustic shock waves directed into specific tissues to promote healing. Through induction of a safe amount of stress on the tissue, it helps break up scar tissue, improve microcirculation and an alternative to surgical intervention

Primary applications:

  • Tennis/Golfer’s elbow
  • Ligament sprains MSK
  • Tendinopathies (Achilles, Patella, Shoulder)
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome
  • Muscle tears

Localised Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy using the CryoAir is an effective treatment that safely exposes the skin surface to sub-zero temperatures that stimulates multiple health benefits, When the body experiences this extreme cold, it triggers the body’s natural defence system.
This releases endorphins, boosts blood circulation and increases the body’s metabolic rate.
Cryostimulation is when the brain fully reacts to the thermo receptors on the skin surface being reduced to temperatures between 7 and 12 degrees celsius. The temperature is dependant on which part of the body is being treated.
The treatment temperature used for cryostimulation is currently perceived to be -32 degrees celsius.

Benefits:

  • Instant analgesic effect reducing pain, swelling and inflammation
  • Improves Circulation and lymphatic drainage
  • Reduces muscle, tendon, ligament strain and injury
  • Increases cell metabolism
  • Imroves joint functionality
  • Increases fresh oxygenated blood flow and nutrients to the direct area encouraging recovery and repair four times quicker than the body naturally heals itself
  • Stimulates cell renewal and collagen production
  • Reduces scarring and acne
  • Treats skin problems such as eczema & improves skin tone
  • Enhances athletic performance
